Frequently Asked Questions

When do I need to be there?
The IBR and OBR rides start on Sunday morning (July 25 for IBR and August 8 for OBR). Registration and check-in will be on Saturday, the day before each ride. We will have a campsite ready for you as well as a dinner on Saturday night.

What do my fees include?
All meals, (IBR: Saturday - Friday; OBR: Saturday - Saturday) are included. Lunch will be included on the final day in lieu of dinner. Also included are your camping fees, gear transport, showers and toilets, towel service, vehicle support and rest stops as weather and terrain dictates. A commemorative item is also included.

What do I need to do if I have to cancel?
Cancellation fees have become a necessity in the modern age. Cancellations need to be in writing. The schedule is:

Up to 45 days prior to departure: $50 with the balance refunded.
Within 45 days prior to departure: $200 with the balance refunded.

We recommend that you buy trip cancellation insurance to recover non-refundable fees.

Is this a camping or a lodging tour?
This is a camping tour. A list of motels in the communities were we will be staying will be sent to you in the confirmation packet. However we do not have any shuttle service to get you to the motels. Getting there will be on your own. Riders who choose to do this should bring a backpack to carry what they need for the night and ride their bike to the motel.

What do I need to bring?
See the Equipment List.

What is the fee for a non-rider?
Non-rider fees are $575 for IBR and $600 for OBR. These fees cover the use of all amenities. There is no pro-rated fee for just meals, showers, etc.

Can I bring my own support vehicle and driver?
Yes you can. They will be asked not to take the bike route to each campsite unless there is no alternative. If they need to take the bike route, they will be asked not to stop at the rest stop or along the route. There is usually not room for extra vehicle at the rest stop and stopping along the route can be hazardous for the riders. The driver will be asked to register and agree to our policies.

Will we have a place to leave cars for the week?
Yes. Arrangements have been made to leave them at the site where we start and end the rides.

Do you provide Lunch?
Yes we do. All meals are included except for the lunch on the layover days.

Cancellation Insurance:
We do not provide cancellation insurance but we do recommend that you purchase it in the event that you need to cancel at the last minute. There are a number of companies who carry it. You can either go to your local travel agent or check online for these companies.

Items to bring:
Check the Clothing & Equipment list.

Can I ship my bike?
Yes. You will need to ship your bike to Sunnyside Sports and arrive no later than one week prior the start of the ride:

Sunnyside Sports
930 NW Newport Ave.
Bend, OR 97701
Attn: OBR or BI
Phone: (541) 382-8018

Check with your local UPS service for actual shipping time from your area. Please be sure to put your name on the box or bike.
